The force behind Restaurante Manu in Curitiba, Brazil, and the nonprofit Instituto Manu Buffara is chef Manoella "Manu" Buffara Ramos. The acclaimed chef has earned countless accolades throughout her career, including being named Latin America's Best Female Chef by the World's 50 Best in 2022. And this month, you can catch her in New York.
This August, chef Manu collaborates with The Standard Grill on two intimate dinners, taking place August 13 and 14. Continuing her sustainability and seasonality ethos, her dishes will also draw upon "memories of the city's streets, reinterpreted through Brazilian ingredients, techniques, and flavors." A preview of the meal includes her classic brioche bread and butter, known as "Manu Bread," and mains that range from wagyu and pork to chibé, an Amazonian dish made with cassava flour.
Catch chef Manu for two ticketed dinners on August 13 and August 14, starting at 7pm. The dinners are priced at $85 per person. Can't make the date? A selection of chef Manu's dishes will remain on the menu until the end of the month for an extended taste of Brazil.
