Celebrity chef, TV personality and tour de force when it comes to Thai cookery is chef Arnold Myint. From Thailand to Tennessee, the James Beard Award-winning chef and Top Chef competitor has continued the tales of his family, specifically paying homage to his parents at Nashville's International Market. Now with a debut cookbook fresh off the shelves, the chef is coming to New York City to share a taste of heritage and his cuisine.
On October 8, Myint will be popping up at Williamsburg's beloved Thai eatery KRU for a communal Thai feast. The family-style meal will feature recipes straight from his latest cookbook, Family Thai: Bringing the Flavors of Thailand Home. Dishes hot off the press include caramelized dried shrimp with an anchovy crumble, known as Nam Prik Klang Dong, and Phet Palloh, a duck, soy, and five-spice stew. The meal will end on a sweet note with Sankaya Faktong Ice Cream Sandwiches. Not only will chef Myint be signing cookbooks, but he will be personally preparing the meal, truly bringing the flavors of Thailand to the table.
Tickets are $75 per guest plus tax. Dinner starts at 8:30pm, and à la carte drinks and special wine and saké flights are available for separate purchase. Reserve your seat at the table here.
