The highest outdoor observation deck in the Western Hemisphere? That title belongs to The Edge, soaring 100 floors up. One floor up is Peak with Priceless, where you can pair your views with a meal.
The name may sound familiar, as the soaring restaurant was previously known as just Peak before TAO took over and Mastercard became a sponsor. Following a year-long renovation, Peak 2.0 serves as a sleek supporting character to the 360 views that surround it, becoming particularly sultry at night with a palette of deep blues and greys and structural light fixtures seemingly pulled from the Art Deco era. There's a prime row of tables and chairs that nose up to the edge, but the set-up here affords everyone in the dining room a great view: Booths are tiered, reminiscent of a theater, making it easy for everyone to catch the show.
Along with a little facelift comes a new menu. However, much like its predecessor, dishes here stick to Americana classics, keyed in to please out-of-towners, as most of the clientele is made up of them, with thick cuts of heirloom tomatoes and basil fronds, freshly cracked lobster and oysters on icy seafood stands and baby gem lettuces that cup Wagyu and horseradish shavings. Entrees lean heavily on fish and meat, with one pasta-and-chicken dish among them, featuring black sea bass in a punchy cherry tomato vinaigrette and various cuts of steak, from prime ribeye to dry-aged. The Skyline brings a slice of New York further inside, as the pyramid-shaped hazelnut and salted caramel dessert is a direct mold of the top of the building.
