Time Out says

Author-activist Bryan Stevenson will delve into the long legacy of jazz musicians in the fight for civil rights and justice.

As part of the 11th Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Speaker Series, Juilliard will host A Conversation With Bryan Stevenson, the founder of the Equal Justice Initiative, best-selling author of Just Mercy and 2023 recipient of the National Humanities Medal from President Biden. Though he’s known for his racial advocacy work and efforts to end mass incarceration and excessive punishment in America, Stevenson is also a dedicated pianist and jazz musician. He will tap into that musical background for this lecture, which will delve into the long legacy of jazz musicians in the fight for civil rights and justice.

The program's on Thursday, January 18 at The Julliard School. It's free to attend with advance registration
