Explore the art and history of calligraphic writing with the professional designers at Bowne & Co. for this special workshop at the South Street Seaport Museum.
On Saturday, March 16, attendees can join one of two 90-minute workshops at either 1pm or 3pm, during which they can learn hands-on he fundamentals of drawing Roman capitals (majuscule) and lowercase (minuscule) letters using a chisel tip calligraphy pen. Discover different styles and methodologies of calligraphy–shoulders and strokes, ascenders and descenders–and experiment with making your own form.
The event is free but space is limited, so advanced registration is encouraged!
