Time Out says

For four nights in August, Central Park becomes a movie theater, so grab your blanket and some popcorn.

There's nothing like enjoying an outdoor movie in NYC during the summer—especially in Central Park. For four straight nights, NYC's most iconic park becomes a movie theater.

This year's event is sponsored by National Geographic and focuses on documentary films. Here's the lineup:

— Tuesday, August 15: The Space Race
— Wednesday, August 16: Arctic Ascent with Alex Honnold
— Thursday, August 17: Wild Life
— Friday, August 18: We Feed People

Gates open at 6:30pm with music and pre-show programming until the movie starts at dusk. Find the big screen between Sheep Meadow and the 72nd Street Cross Drive.

The event's free but attendees are asked to RSVP online.
