Time Out says

The works of two of the most important couturiers of the mid-20th century are currently on display at the Museum at FIT in "Dior + Balenciaga: The Kings of Couture and Their Legacies," a free exhibit that will be open to the public through November 6.

Visitors will get to browse through approximately 65 different ensembles that are part of the museum's permanent collection.

"Although their backgrounds and methodologies were markedly different, Dior and Balenciaga concurrently produced fashions that captured the era’s hunger for luxury and elegance and led the restoration of France’s profitable fashion industry after the devastation of two world wars and a crippling economic depression," reads an official press release. "Together, they contributed to France’s economic and cultural recovery, both launching their eponymous collections at age 42."

Expect educational components to pepper the space as well, alongside designs by other fashion pros that will showcase Dior and Balenciaga's overall impact on the industry.
