Time Out says

Brooklyn's first-ever flatfooting parade is back, bringing live music, group dances and holiday cheer down Park Slope's Flatbush Avenue

Brooklyn's first-ever flatfooting parade is turning 10! On December 21, as part of Make Music New York's Winter Solstice Celebration, Flatfoot Flatbush is back, with its signature mix of dancers, fiddlers and pickers parading down the sidewalks of Park Slope’s Flatbush Avenue and playing old-timey tunes while flatfooting, a form of percussive dancing from Appalachia.

The spirited evening will kick off with a warm up and quick flatfooting workshop hosted by Megan Downes at 4pm, followed by the official parade down Flatbush, stopping at local businesses along the way. The parade will finish off at the 6th Avenue Triangle at 5:30pm, with a special performance from the Gowanus Wildcats and a participatory Contra dance led by Brooklyn Contra. And, of course, there will be an indoor after-party starting at 6:30pm featuring even more music and dance, and an open jam led by the Flatfoot Flatbush Band.
