Lincoln Center debuts its first-ever arts and wellness summit, dubbed "HeARTbeat," on Saturday, February 21, with a full day of programming centered on the convergence of mental health, physical wellbeing and human connection. The festival will bring together artists across disciplines, healthcare professionals, and top-rate scientists for programs that "contextualize the arts through a scientific lens," including performances, participatory movement sessions, expert-led classes, engaging panels, sound experiences, and immersive virtual reality. Among the scheduled events are a pair-up between legendary singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright and renowned neuroscientist Dr. Charles Limb to discuss what happens in our brains as music is created and savored, as well as a collective singing session and conversation with The Lazours, creators of Night Side Songs, premiering this winter at Lincoln Center Theater.
