Time Out says

There's a free scavenger hunt aboard a ship, arts and crafts activations, and trick-or-treating at the Seaport this year

Head to the South Street Seaport on Halloween weekend for a celebration that's all treats and no tricks. On Saturday, October 28, you can stop by the Introduction Galleries at 12 Fulton Street and at Bowne & Co. Stationers at 211 Water Street to show off your costumes and get some goodies.

In addition to trick-or-treating, there will be all-ages family activity stations throughout the South Street Seaport Museum campus as part of a Halloween block party presented in partnership with Mommy Poppins, Brooklyn Bridge Parents, and The Howard Hughes Corporation. Activities will include Halloween arts-and-crafts activities, a spooky scavenger hunt, and other festive experiences to be had on the cobblestones of Fulton and Front Street.

On Sunday, October 29, the Museum will continue to offer Halloween-inspired arts and crafts activities as well as a spooky scavenger hunt aboard the tall ship Wavertree. Festivities at the Seaport Museum will take place between 11am and 5pm on both dates. They're free to join but if you want to definitely secure your spot, you can preregister at the Seaport Museum's website

And if you want even more spookiness, you can take part in a 90-minute "Sinister Secrets of the Seaport" walking tour through Lower Manhattan. Throughout the interactive tour, your guide will share historical stories about the historic buildings and cobblestone streets that make up Manhattan's oldest areas. Check out the tour schedule and snag a ticket ($30-$40) at the museum's website.
