Time Out says

Any exhibition of Takashi Murakami's works is a must-see—add an interactive element to it and you've got yourself a truly memorable experience.

In "An Arrow Through History" at two of Gagosian's New York galleries (976 and 980 Madison Avenue), patrons are encouraged to embrace virtual reality and immersive art by making use of Snapchat filters that will activate a slew of animations both inside and outside of the premises.

In a truly modern and technologically advanced offering, those interested can also experience the show without going to the gallery itself. Here is how.

"When I work on a creative production, I make no distinction between digital and analog," Murakami said in an official statement about the exhibit. "I'm always working in the context of contemporary art and that context is all about whether I can be involved in events that manage to trigger a cognitive revolution."

Expect to see the Japanese artist's latest projects across three separate presentations that will shed light on his influential aesthetic and more.

The exhibit runs through June 25.
