Time Out says

Known for its extravagant holiday decorations and nostalgic feel, the iconic Central Park restaurant Tavern on the Green is inviting everyone to join in for their annual tree lighting on Tuesday, November 29. The restaurant's staff will illuminate a 20-foot Christmas tree adorned with 2,000 ornaments and 10,000 lights to glow through Central Park.

In addition to the tree lighting, of course, the event also features performances from DJ Tweed, music by the Manhattan Holiday Carolers and a surprise Broadway performance. The restaurant will serve complimentary hot chocolate, apple cider and holiday-themed desserts throughout the event. The festivities kick off at 5:30pm with the tree lighting at 7pm.

The West Side Campaign Against Hunger will be on-site, so you can donate to help all New Yorkers get access to food this holiday season.
