Time Out says

Author, programmer and Criterion Collection Curatorial Director Ashley Clark is delving into his new book The World of Black Film with this cinematic series at the Museum of Moving Image. "The World of ’70s Black Film Musicals" will focus on just that, kicking off with a special screening of The Wiz—a vibrant reimaining of The Wizard of Oz with an all-Black cast including superstars Diana Ross and Michael Jackson—on Saturday, March 7 at 1pm. Make it a double feature with a 4pm showing of the amibitious musical satire West Indies: The Fugitive Slaves of Liberty, directed by the legendary Mauritanian-French filmmaker Med Hondo (Soleil Ô). On Sunday, March 8 at 1pm, you'll also get to see a special presentation of John Coney's Space is the Place, the seminal Afrofuturist film featuring avant-jazz musician Sun Ra.
