Ali Eriç: Pekin-Paris Rallisi ilk kez 1907 yılında yapılmış. Katılan 5 arabadan 4’ü yarışı tamamlayabilmiş. Yarışın 90. yılında yani 1997’de ralli tekrarlanmış. 2007’de 100. yılı münasebetiyle düzenlenen üçüncüsünden itibaren her üç yılda bir periyodik olarak düzenlenir hale gelmiş. Bu yılki sekizincisi. Aslında 2022 yılında yapılması gerekirken pandemi nedeniyle önce 2023’e, daha sonra 2024’e ertelendi. Toplam 110 ekip arabalarıyla katılıyor. Bu yılki en eski araba 1914 model bir LaFrance. En genç araba yaşı ise 1975’ten daha yeni olamıyor bu sene. Toplam 34,500 km’lik bir yolu sırasıyla Çin-Kazakistan-Azerbaycan-Gürcistan-Türkiye-Yunanistan-San Marino-İtalya-Fransa geçilerek toplam 37 günde tamamlayacağız. Yarışın ilk kısmı diyebileceğimiz Bakü’ye kadar olan bölüm oldukça çetin şartlarda geçecek gibi. Sonrasında daha alışık olduğumuz yol koşullarında yarışacağız. Sanata ilginiz nasıl başladı? Bu alanda bugüne dek neler yaptığınızı anlatabilir misiniz? Sanata ilgim küçüklükten başlayarak bugüne geldi. Çizim yapmaya çok küçük yaşlarda başladım fakat lise dönemine kadar sanat okulunda okumayı hiç düşünmemiştim. Lise son sınıfta keskin bir dönüşle güzel sanatlarda okumaya karar verdim ve asıl sürecim bu noktada başladı. Bu alanda kendimi bulmaya çalışarak geçirdim genel sürecimi, aslında hâlâ kendimi bulmaya çalışıyorum ve bu sürecin de hayatım boyunca devam edeceğini düşünüyorum. Birçok karma sergide yer aldım. Başta İstanbul olmak üzere Mersin, Eskişehir ve İzmir’de birkaç karma sergide bulundum. Daha fazla sergiye katılaraks işlerimi daha çok alanda göstermeyi hedefliyorum. Bugüne dek de bunun için çalıştım, çalışmaya devam ediyorum. Mamut’a katılmaya nasıl karar verdiniz? Mamut Art Project üniversitenin birinci sınıfından beri katılmayı hedeflediğim bir seçkiydi. Sanatçılar için sunduğu olanaklar azımsanamayacak kadar fazla. Türkiye’deki önemli yarışmalar bir tanesi ve bu nedenle uzun süredir içerisinde olmak istediğim bir sergi. Mamut’taki projenizi Google’ın Maps ve Translate özelliklerini kullanarak oluşturdunuz. Projenin detaylarından bahsedebilir misiniz? Proje izleyicilere ne sunuyor ve ne anlatıyor? Proje, Google Maps üzerinden alınmış kayıt ve Google Translate uygulamasının görsel çeviri özelliğini kullanarak oluşturuldu. İstanbul Müzik Festivali bir kez daha klasik müziğin yıldız isimleriyle dolu bir programla karşımızda. Şehre her sene yaz mevsiminin gelişini müjdeleyen festivalin bu yıl 52’ncisi gerçekleştiriliyor. İstanbul’un çeşitli konser mekanlarında gerçekleştirilecek 25 konserde dünyanın dört bir yanından seçkin orkestraları ve önemli solistleri ağırlayacak festival. Budapeşte Festival Orkestrası, Festival Strings Lucerne, Borusan İstanbul Filarmoni Orkestrası, Tekfen Filarmoni Orkestrası, Mantova Oda Orkestrası, Franz Liszt Oda Orkestrası, Macar Ulusal Korosu, Borusan Quartet gibi önemli toplulukların yanı sıra Maria João Pires, Khatia Buniatishvili, Francesco Piemontesi, Jean-Guihen Queyras, István Várdai, Gülsin Onay, Edgar Moreau, Kristóf Baráti, Roby Lakatos gibi solistleri de festivalde dinleyebileceksiniz. Festivalin bu yılki teması ise ‘Kökler’. Festival Türkiye-Yunanistan nüfus mübadelesinin 100. yılına odaklanarak, müzik aracılığıyla bu coğrafyanın kültürel ve tarihi öykülerini aktarmayı hedefliyor. Onur Ödülü ise ülkemizin yanı sıra Avrupa ve İngiltere’de sürdürdüğü kariyeri, kurduğu orkestralar ve gençlere yarattığı imkanlarla 40 yıldır klasik müzik dünyasında önemli bir rol oynayan şef Cem Mansur’a sunuluyor. What is it? Situated just opposite Kaleköy, the island of Kekova is home to the sunken ruins of what once was the ancient Lycian village of Dolichiste. Why go? Dolichiste, which was submerged after an earthquake in the 2nd century, is a fascinating piece of history buried beneath the crystal clear waters of the Med. Hop aboard a tour boat from Kaş harbour to the shores of Kekova Island where you’ll find this unique archeological wonder, parts of which remain above water. As swimming is prohibited in this area, a guided kayak tour would be the way to go for those seeking a more intimate exploration of the ancient ruins.

What is it? Beyond the touristic appeal of this 18 kilometre-long geological marvel, the Saklıkent Canyon (also known as the Saklıkent National Park) is a popular destination amongst locals and neighbouring communities as a place for relaxation and recreation. An absolute masterpiece of nature, the canyon walls range between 200 to 600 metres high, and as narrow as only 2 metres. Why go? If you're an avid hiker with a penchant for adventure, a visit to Saklıkent is an absolute must. Your journey through the canyon will take you along boardwalks, rocky trails, and through sections of a shallow river, all surrounded by magnificent, towering cliffs. Water shoes will be your best friend on this visit, so don’t forget to pack a pair or rent some on-site.

What is it? This stunning Hellenistic amphitheatre, nestled within an equally stunning natural setting, stands as yet another must-see Lycian site. What separates the ancient amphitheatre from others across Anatolia is that it is the only one of its kind with a sea front. Why go? As one of the few remaining structures from Anthiphellos, one of the oldest Lycian settlements to exist, this magnificent, 4,000-seater ancient structure has become even more worthy of a visit since its 2008 restoration. Plus, unlike some other ancient sites around Kaş, you won’t need to venture far at all, as the theatre is only a 5-10 minute walk away from the city centre.

Today, this ancient site boasts a wealth of impressive buildings, many of which are remarkably well-preserved. Patara is also known as the birthplace of Saint Nicholas, who is more  famously recognised as Santa Claus. Why go? Noteworthy for its well-preserved ruins, another wonderful feature of Patara is the nearby Patara beach which has been the nesting site for the endangered caretta caretta turtles for millions of years. Additionally, Patara more is believed to be the birthplace of Saint Nicholas, famous for being the figure Santa Claus is based on. Why visit?
