Nope, not that overhyped 50, but the World's 50 Best Restaurants list. Announced yesterday at a ceremony in London, the rankings saw Andre Chiang pick up Singapore’s only top-50 position. His Bukit Pasoh Road fine dining spot, Restaurant Andre, made it to 46th spot, dropping 11 places from last year’s list.
Two other local restaurants, Waku Ghin and JAAN, repped our food-serious city by making it to the 51-100 Best Restaurants list this year.
Elsewhere on the list, El Cellar De Can Roca in Girona, Spain, leapfrogged Copenhagen's Noma (#3 this year) to take pole position, while Narisawa in Tokyo (#8) trumped Bangkok’s Gaggan (#10) – which topped the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list – to lead the region.
