Free: Kids & Family
The best free attractions and activities Singapore has to offer for kids, teens, and families
Free mid-autumn festival events
We've round up the best free Mid-Autumn Festival events you can take your family to. Enjoy the Chinatown Mid-Autumn Festival, Esplanade's Moonfest 2015, a performance by Braddell Heights Chinese Orchestra and VivoCity and TANGS' Mid-Autumn fair.
Shake hands with Batman
The Dark Knight himself takes the stage at the atrium of City Square Mall, ready to rappel from skyscrapers and escape from multi-tiered underground prisons. Okay, not really, but at least he’ll kick some Joker butt at this staged performance.
Plus, if you spend $50 or more at the shopping centre, you’ll get to meet the Growl in a Cowl in person. (In case it wasn’t clear enough, this one’s for kids – so keep your fanboy hands off.)
Sep 5-13, Mon-Fri 7pm; Sat & Sun 2pm & 7pm.
Enjoy a light show at Gardens by the Bay
Yes, honey, it’s touristy, but the Garden Rhapsody sound and lightshow at Gardens by the Bay is still worth a visit.
We recommend strolling around the garden’s grounds during the day – it’s gratis except for the conservatories and the Skywalk – and head to the Supertree Grove for the 12min show. It takes place every night and sees the 25m- to 50m-tall giants lit up in an array of colours. A special SG50 edition is showing until September 13.
Daily 7.45pm & 8.45pm.
