Amoy Street Food Centre welcomes hordes of hungry office folks for lunch daily, and safe to say, a good number of them can be found queueing for Spicy Wife. The humble stall on Level 2 of the hawker centre sells Malaysian-style nasi lemak, and the nasi goreng ayam berempah is its most popular order. The reason? Each plate comes with a generous hunk of juicy fried chicken thigh coated in crispy rempah, paired with fragrant coconut rice and a punchy homemade sambal.

Starting this month, those who aren't working around the Telok Ayer area will not miss out any longer. Spicy Wife is bringing its signature nasi lemak to a more central location, with the opening of its counterpart, Spicy Hubby, in The Centrepoint, Orchard. The new 60-seater casual eatery is located on Level 1, and diners can now enjoy its nasi lemak in a more comfortable air-conditioned setting, with dedicated seating.

The nasi goreng ayam berempah ($9.90) remains a headliner, but Spicy Hubby is also introducing new outlet-exclusive dishes: the nasi rendang ayam ($12.90) and nasi ayam gepuk ($12.90). While the former sees slow-cooked rendang chicken in a thick, rich coconut gravy, the latter is a less saucy dish of hand-pounded, marinated fried chicken cutlet.

There are also options to pile your plate high with sides like the XL otak ($4.90), fried tempe ($4.90), fried prawn crackers ($1.90) and more. Or pick from veggies like long bean sambal ($2.90), okra curry ($2.90) or simple fried cabbage ($2.90). Wash it all down with a sparkling calamansi ($4.90).

Head down to the new outlet between October 16 and 18 and bring a friend to enjoy a neat 1-for-1 opening promotion.

Spicy Hubby is open daily from 10am to 9pm at 76 Orchard Rd, #01-55, The Centrepoint Food Street, Singapore 238843.
