Everyone's in search of unique experiences in Singapore these days. After all, unless you're travelling to Hong Kong, it seems like you'll be spending the year-old holidays in this city. But if you thought you've seen, tasted and heard everything the Lion City has to offer, you thought wrong. There's one spot that's been uncharted territory to the public – until now, that is.

Victoria Theatre & Victoria Concert Hall (VTVCH) is opening its iconic clock tower to the public for the first time, as part of Trafalgar's unique "Near Not Far" staycation tour itinerary. Singaporeans can take part in a two-day, one-night Singapore Heritage Highlights tour, which brings you on a guided history tour of the grand buildings of The Arts House and Victoria Theatre and Victoria Concert Hall (VTVCH) and enjoy a night at PARKROYAL on Beach Road and The Capitol Kempinski Hotel. Make history and get the rare opportunity to climb the 54m-high clock tower, which has never been open to the public before.

The tour kicks off at the hotel, from where you embark on a walking tour around Kampong Gelam with your Travel Director. After the tour, pick a spot for lunch at one of the charming restaurants in Kampong Gelam and get some free time exploring everything the ethnic enclave has to offer. The exclusive tour of two of Singapore's cultural institutions – The Arts House and Victoria Theatre & Victoria Concert Hall – starts at 3.45pm and will be led by Jerome Lim, the historian and blogger behind The Long and Winding Road. Learn more about the two heritage buildings and find out about the clock's history and its connection to London's Big Ben. After which, feast on iconic Peranakan dishes at the National Kitchen by Violet Oon and meet the chef herself, who speaks about the inspiration and influences behind the flavours of her iconic Nyonya dishes.

Prices for the two-day, one-night itinerary start from S$528 per person for an Orchid Club Deluxe Room at PARKROYAL on Beach Road (on Friday and Saturday) and $628 per person for a Stamford Suite Room at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel (on weekdays). You can book your experience here
