Burnt Ends' new brewery pours beer straight from tank to tap at Sentosa

Here’s another tap to keep tabs on: People People Brewing Co., a 9,000 sq ft working brewery, opens April 15 at Resorts World Sentosa – serving beer brewed on-site and poured straight from tank to tap.

This is a four-way collaboration between Dave Pynt of Burnt Ends, hotelier Loh Lik Peng, brand builder Pete Thew, and strategist Jason Moy. Leading the brewing programme is award-winning brewer Nick Calder-Scholes, who was named Australian Brewer of the Year by Beer & Brewer in 2024. He has over a decade of experience spanning the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific. 

The huge space features five 1,500-litre tanks in full view, with beer poured directly from the tank via custom-designed taps for optimal freshness. Indoor and outdoor seating is flexible, moving easily between small and large groups, as well as between daytime and late-evening setups. Programming fills in the rest: Sunday Socials (family-leaning, kids eat free), Saturday Long Lunch (two-hour free-flow), Woodfire Wednesdays (cooking specials from the wood-fired kitchen), and Thirsty Thursdays (brewery tours and guided tastings led by Head Brewer Nick Calder-Scholes). You can also enjoy live music sessions and sports screenings throughout the week.

On the beer front, the range includes a Core lineup (lager, pale ale, IPA), seasonal drops, a smaller-batch workshop series, and a founder’s reserve tier that remains limited to members. Expect clean, balanced pours across the board – think a house lager built on Saaz and Tettnang hops, fruit-forward sours like passionfruit and yuzu, and citrus-leaning California IPAs.

Dave Pynt oversees the food menu, with grub like Classico wood-fired sourdough pizzas and chicken and grilled meats prepared in a Camino open-fire hearth with a central rotisserie. Besides burgers and bar snacks, look out for signatures such as miso beef short rib pizza, lemon thyme roast chicken, and salt and pepper squid. 

There are three membership tiers worth jumping on, too. Founding Members (capped at 100) will receive exclusive events, pre-opening access, guided tastings with the Head Brewer, and first access to new releases, while Friends of People People and Beer Drop members will have access to annual beer allocations, complimentary pours, and invitations to events and tastings.
