Would you believe your eyes if ten million fireflies were to light up Singapore’s skies? Almost as a prelude to the grand National Day fireworks comes Spark, an immersive light show by Dutch artist Daan Roosegaarde. Having toured over 10 cities, including Tokyo, London, Melbourne, and Auckland, this captivating installation now lands at Gardens by the Bay’s Supertree Grove, marking its very first appearance in Southeast Asia.

Meant to be a more environmentally friendly rendition of fireworks as we know them, Spark uses thousands of biodegradable light sparks that resemble a swarm of fireflies and stars as they float about and twinkle through the night. They’re also silent, which means that those with sensory issues – or even your furry friends – are also able to comfortably enjoy the enchanting spectacle without experiencing any distress normally associated with traditional pyrotechnics.
