Jumbo Seafood is offering a series of farewell promotions ahead of its closure

If you’ve cycled the stretch of East Coast Park, you would have breezed past East Coast Seafood Centre, home to Jumbo Seafood’s first-ever outlet and its long-standing neighbour, Long Beach – both of which have been around since the 1980s. But it’s time to say goodbye, as both will close on September 30, 2026, when their leases expire.
The closure isn't due to dwindling business, though. Rather, landlord NParks is studying plans to redevelop East Coast Seafood Centre as part of its longer-term vision for East Coast Park. Both restaurants were told to vacate the premises by March 2026, with lease extensions granted until September 2026 to ease the transition.
East Coast Seafood Centre has seen generations of diners – ourselves included – making the trip to the breezy waterfront spot for Jumbo’s signature chilli crab, cereal prawns and salted egg yolk prawns, and Long Beach’s black pepper crab and crab bee hoon soup.
Their closure is bittersweet news for sure, but it’s worth noting that while Jumbo Seafood at East Coast is closing for good, Long Beach is set to relocate to Coastal PlayGrove in East Coast Park, just an eight-minute drive away. Its new outlet is expected to open in early September.
As expected, Jumbo Singapore is bowing out with a bang – with a series of farewell promotions ahead of the East Coast outlet’s closure. Swing by from June 11 to July 31 for $39 mud crab in your preferred style; get $39 vouchers via the Jumbo SG app from now until September 30; or cop a table at a ticketed Grand Finale Dinner in late September, prices from $1000 per table of 10.
Founding member Mr Ang Hon Nam will also make appearances at the restaurant during the farewell period – no specific dates have been announced yet, though. Diners who take a photo with him and show it to staff will receive a complimentary coconut drink.
