Some of you would remember when Chinese hotpot chain Haidilao first opened in Singapore as a single store on the second floor of a Clarke Quay shophouse. With perks like complimentary manicures, special ‘secret codes’ for freebies, and an amusing noodle dance, the novel concept swiftly caught the attention of locals who also laud it for its flavoursome broths and impeccable service.

13 years on, HDL still sees long queues despite its strong army of branches across Singapore. But it’s the end of an era: the OG at Clarke Quay – part of many night owls’ post-drinks supper ritual in the bar-laden area – is closing its doors for good on August 31, 2025, due to lease expiration.

To thank fans for their unwavering support over the years, Haidilao is giving out $20 dining vouchers to eligible members, with no minimum spend required. A total of $800,000 worth of vouchers will be given out, and these can be redeemed and used at any Haidilao outlet of your choice.

On top of that, enter a lucky draw from August 18 to 29 to win dining vouchers for Haidilao’s sister brands, Hi Hotpot and Hi Noodle, when you visit HDL during selected hours.

We’re sad to see this one go, but thankfully, Haidilao has 15 other outlets scattered throughout the island – including the heartlands – so there’s bound to be one near you wherever you are.
