Singaporeans are going places, all thanks to the unrivalled power of our passport. Sure, we've slipped off the first-place throne a couple of times, but for the most part, our little red book of travel stamps has consistently been number one on the global Henley Passport Index.

Things are no different in the latest October 2025 update of the Henley Passport Index, with Singaporeans continuing to hold the world's strongest passport.

Other than the privilege of exploring the greatest number of countries without a visa – 193, to be exact – we also experience relatively fuss-free immigration clearance with minimal questioning or added security checks compared to folks from elsewhere.

Only three Asian countries are part of the top 10 list, and all of us happen to make the top three. South Korea comes second, while Japan gets bumped down to third place. In an earlier version of 2025’s list, the two nations in North Asia were tied at second place.

While we’re extremely lucky to enjoy visa exemptions when travelling to a great pool of our fave holiday destinations, no visa doesn’t necessarily equate to no fuss. Just recently, Japan announced its new JESTA programme, which even Singaporeans will not be spared from. There’s a monetary cost to this as well. That said, we’re still thankful for the advantage we have that makes for comparatively smooth-sailing trips.
