This week, cinephiles are treated to a post-circuit breaker cinema experience as movie theatres reopen from July 13. And beyond the halls, cinemas are still showcasing indie flicks, documentaries, and movies from around the world via video streaming platforms. Even the Singapore French Summer Festival made its debut this week with a curated mix of French films. But if you still want that big-screen experience minus the restrictions (and people chewing loudly and talking during the screening), Silent Disco Asia is ready to turn your sweet digs into a home cinema.

Known for its headphone raves, Silent Disco Asia is offering home packages for you to gather the fam or fellow movie buffs of up to five, and host your very own dance shindig or movie screening – with its signature headphones, no less. Order the number of headphones you'd like (minimum of five headphones), then add the extras you need including a high-powered projector and a 300-inch screen for a Gold Class experience in your living room or outdoor garden under a blanket of stars. All the equipment will be delivered at your doorstep in a self-contained box, along with complimentary antibacterial wipes.

The chosen movie then lies in your hands – or fingertip. Explore film catalogues beyond Netflix with the Objectifs Film Library, MeWatch, and the recently launched KinoLounge by Shaw Theatres which is currently hosting the Singapore French Summer Festival. Select a film, hit play, sit back, and relax.

Your dance schedule doesn't have to remain empty for long, either. If you're a frequent dancefloor punter, you'd be familiar with Silent Disco. First launched in London, the underground party invites revellers to boogie down with headphones on, complete with music spun live by a performing DJ. Like noise-cancelling headphones, Silent Disco's neon-decorated devices filter out all the unnecessary sounds – think small talk, screaming and shouting you'd hear at nightclubs – and leaving you with what matters most – the music. Plus, the choices are infinite as you can switch channels for more different mixes like EDM, indie-rock, and chart-toppers.

With the home packages, you can also host your very own Silent Disco experience. Order a curated mix for each of the three channels, or create your very own playlists via iTunes or Spotify, and flex your taste in music. Optional extras for the full experience include disco lights and smoke machines.

The last Silent Disco event took place in February this year at the Observation Deck atop the Marina Bay Sands before many other events including outdoor film festivals were forced to postpone or cancel due to the pandemic. But you don't have to wait that long for another Silent Disco experience. Prices for the Silent Disco Home Packages start from $150. For more information, visit silent-disco.asia.
