2026’s National Day Parade is set to be extra special – the parade is returning to the National Stadium for the first time since 2016. Naturally, crowd levels are going to be at an all-time high, with possible congestion on both roads and pavements. But arrive early, arm yourself with a real-time crowd level feed, and stay informed of road closures so that you won’t get swept up in the throng this August 9.

What time should I arrive for NDP 2026?
The gates to the National Day Parade open at 4.30pm, while the pre-parade segment starts at 5.30pm. This gives you a good hour to find your seat, make a toilet stop, and settle down. However, you’re strongly encouraged to arrive earlier for a smoother process, so you might wish to start queuing at least 30 minutes to an hour before 4.30pm.
Make sure you only enter via your designated entry point based on your seat number, or you might have to turn back and queue all over again.

Which roads will be closed during National Day 2026?
On August 9, major road closures around the National Stadium and Sports Hub precinct will take place in two distinct phases: Phase 1 begins at 7am, while Phase 2 expands traffic restrictions starting from 3pm. Access across key arterial routes – including connections to Nicoll Highway, Stadium Drive, Stadium Boulevard, and Stadium Place, as well as Carparks A through E – will be strictly restricted during these hours to authorised event vehicles and emergency services only. All affected roads are scheduled to reopen fully at 11pm on both dates once event operations wrap up.
