This might be the end of an era for the famous Beo Crescent curry rice, as the beloved stall has been told to vacate its premises by October. According to the stallholders, the coffeeshop at 40 Beo Crescent has been bought over by new owners, who have informed all existing tenants to find a new location by the end of the month. The stall will be serving its final plates of curry rice on September 30.

It’s sad news for fans of the eatery. Back in 2022, rumours of its potential closure sparked a frenzy, only for it to be revealed that it was a false alarm. The stall wasn’t shutting down but was instead taking a short break for upgrading works. It reopened more than two months later to longer-than-usual queues, with eager customers returning to a freshly refurbished space.

The owners of Beo Crescent curry rice are currently searching for a new location nearby and hope to continue serving customers in the same neighbourhood. So far, nothing has been confirmed – but watch this space closely for the latest updates. What we do know is that you can expect longer queues in the meantime, with loyal fans making a beeline for one last hurrah.

And if you haven’t had a chance to dig into the stall’s glorious, messy plates of curry rice, this is your sign to do so before it potentially shutters for good on September 30. Our go-to order? Rice, braised cabbage, a double portion of pork cutlet and a fried egg, all drenched in generous ladles of curry and five-spice gravy. And if you’re feeling hungry, add on the deep-fried prawns and sambal squid. You’ll thank us later.

Beo Crescent curry rice is open from Thursday to Tuesday from 7am to 2.30pm at 40 Beo Crescent, Singapore 160040.
