Orchard Road is gearing up for a major transformation. Singapore’s Budget 2026 just revealed that the iconic shopping strip isn’t just about retail anymore. A massive new live music venue is on the way, while Emerald Hill is getting a revamp that could turn the whole area into a one-stop destination for entertainment.

The buzz actually started a while back. News first surfaced two years ago that Live Nation, Lendlease Global Commercial REIT and the Singapore Tourism Board were planning the region’s first-ever Live Nation music venue along Grange Road, right next to Somerset MRT Station – and now the wait is nearly over, with the venue finally slated to open in 2026.

This isn’t your average concert hall – picture 3,000 capacity, cutting-edge tech, multiple stages, and a space where global superstars and local up-and-comers alike can take the spotlight. And that's not all: this venue also features a café and bar that double as cosy event spaces, making it the ultimate destination for live entertainment, community hangouts, meetings, conferences, exhibitions, and everything in between.

Meanwhile, Grange Road isn’t the only area gearing up for a revamp. Just a stone’s throw away, Emerald Hill is stepping into the spotlight too. The government plans to redevelop 37 Emerald Hill, the former site of the Singapore Chinese Girls’ School, into a mixed-use space featuring unique hotels, lifestyle concepts, and public community areas.

This news came up as part of the Budget 2026 update on March 2, which included exciting information about the Greater Sentosa Masterplan, which will see the little island of fun getting a new transport system, spruced-up beaches, and fresh attractions. From Orchard to Sentosa, looks like Singapore's about to get a lot buzzier.
