Whether you're a massive Lego fan or despise the little buggers whenever you step on them, the interlocking plastic bricks aren't just toys for kids. Adults (or rather kidults) are storming into Lego shops these days, getting their hands on exclusive sets wherever possible. If that's not enough, Lego also recently unveiled its latest exhibition Building History: Monuments in Bricks and Blocks at the National Library Building. Here, you can catch iconic Singapore monuments such as the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station, Sultan Mosque, Thian Hock Keng Temple and St Andrew's Cathedral translated onto Lego blocks.

Speaking of monuments, Hong Kong is slaying the Lego Ideas website, eager to join the likes of London and Tokyo with an architectural series that includes the Kowloon Walled City. Considered to be one of the most densely populated places on Earth once upon a time, the infamous venue was known for its lawless nature prior to its demolition in 1993. Along with the Kowloon Walled City set, other ideas include a bustling Hong Kong street food scene, Wan Chai's colonial establishment The Pawn, and – wait for it –a HSBC ATM machine. Lego fans can visit the Lego Ideas website and select their favourite ideas where the Lego Review Board will then decide whether it’s a hit or miss. Support these ideas to see them come to life.

And with an exhibition that's putting Lego-esque Singapore monuments on display, we reckon Lego should also make collectibles such as the Esplanade, Marina Bay Sands or even one of the city's many hawker centres (Lau Pa Sat, perhaps?) available in-stores. Make it happen, Lego!
