Take note of these if you're planning on catching Marina Bay's NYE fireworks this December 31

New Year’s Eve celebrations in Singapore are set to be even bigger than before this December 31. Although the annual Let’s Celebrate countdown show by Mediacorp will be held at a new location this time – on top of Sentosa having not one but two fireworks sites and a drone show – it’s safe to say that the yearly anticipated Marina Bay Countdown will still be going at full force.
If you're planning to head out to town to celebrate the turn of the new year, then take note of the full and partial road closures around Marina Bay. Cycling in the area is banned on this day, but selected bus and train services will have extended operational hours, so you don’t need to worry about getting stranded after the fireworks go off. Here are all the details you need for a smooth New Year’s Eve, for an even smoother 2025 ahead.
Quite a number of roads around Marina Bay will be affected on New Year's Eve (December 31, 2024), each with different periods of closure for crowd-control purposes:
We know the above information can be a bit of an overload, so if you’d rather digest everything in visual form, check out the full New Year’s road closure map via OneMotoring by Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA).
Yes, certain bus routes will be affected by the aforementioned road closures this NYE. These aren’t just for buses passing by the Marina Bay area; There will be some bus route diversions and skipped stops in Boon Lay and Marine Parade.

Simply put, yet. Train and bus services run by both SBS and SMRT will be extended to accommodate the New Year's Eve celebrations. Depending on where you’re departing from or headed to, the last train timings in town will be as late as 2.15am (from Orchard and City Hall MRT stations), while the last bus timings will be as late as 3.25am (from Choa Chu Kang and Bukit Panjang bus interchanges).

Leave your bikes at home, because cycling in the Marina Bay area is not allowed on December 31. Refer to the comprehensive map of 'no cycling' zones at Marina Bay to know where exactly you should avoid.
