Are you ready to party in Hell? Unleash your inner devil on the dance floor this August 20 at Singapore’s hellish folklore theme park, Haw Par Villa. Outer Bounce, who identify themselves as neither a collective nor a crew of promoters, is the brainchild behind Outer Bounce 001 event.
The team felt that there was “a need to re-express the vibrancy and the creative output in music that is rooted in Asia and its communities.” With that thought, they decided to enlist their debut shindig at Haw Par Villa – an eccentric place full of curiosity and otherworldliness packed with statues and dioramas showing scenes from Chinese folklore.
This unconventional yet fresh location is different from past raves, which is something Outer Bounce takes a lot of pride in. On the decks this August 20 is Thailand’s Sunju Hargun – known for his eclectic blend of experimental electronica and techno, and Yoshi Nori of 禁 JIN, who bases most of his activities in Taiwan and Japan. Singapore’s very own Yadin Moha is also part of the lineup.
Why Har Par Villa you ask? Ever since COVID-19 hit the city, it forces Outer Bounce to reconsider how to utilise and readapt spaces. With that in mind, the team together with Haw Par Villa believes in creating new experiences and changing the way society perceives space and sound. Additionally, it is a clever way of educating partymongers on the heritage as well.
