Dhoby Ghaut’s long-standing star mall, Plaza Singapura, along with The Atrium@Orchard, are both gearing up for a S$160 million reinvention. The works will roll out in phases from Q3 2026 to Q4 2028, with both properties staying open – so yes, you can still pop by.

Led by CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust, the revamp is clearly moving away from predictable mall runs, leaning instead into a more experience-led mix – think immersive concepts, themed dining, and a lot more greenery worked into the space.

The highlight? The current sky bridges linking different parts of Plaza Singapura and The Atrium@Orchard across multiple levels will be replaced with “floating gardens.” Details are still fairly light, but they’re expected to be landscaped with greenery and anchored by new dining concepts – so instead of just passing through, they’ll double as places to stop, sit, and spend a bit more time.

Down at street level, things are getting a shake-up, too. Expect a redesigned entrance facing Orchard Road lined with all-day dining spots wrapped in greenery, plus a new façade along Handy Road that leans into sleek, nature-inspired geometry. And inside, the revamp promises immersive LED-heavy spaces, upgraded common areas, and a tenant remix.

There’s also a bigger picture move at play. The overhaul ties into the Urban Redevelopment Authority’s master plan to pedestrianise parts of Orchard Road and extend green spaces like Istana Park. The goal? Blur the line between outdoors and indoors.
