Heaven might be ethereal, but for K-bbq lovers, South Korean grilled chicken restaurant Song Gye Ok proves it can be served on a plate. The cult-favourite eatery, well-loved by K-drama celebrities, has officially opened its second Singapore outlet at The Centrepoint, after its Telok Ayer debut last year.

Main dish? You guessed it, chicken. Known for its audacious tagline, “Waiting in Hell, Tasting in Heaven,” the restaurant turns chicken dishes into an experience: precision charcoal grilling, rare specialty cuts, and a chef-fronted performance where every piece is cooked individually to preserve juiciness, texture, and flavour.

Broken down into six specialty cuts – from neck fillets to softbone breast, and even the heart – each cut is grilled over charcoal to perfection. For those who prefer their chicken in soup form, we recommend trying the 12-hour-slow-simmered chicken soup, Dakgomtang, yielding a collagen-rich broth, paired with roasted chicken and fresh vegetables.

Adding on to the list of must-trys is the all-day MODU × Song Gye Ok Samgyetang collaboration menu, featuring four signature ginseng chicken soups: Truffle Samgyetang for truffle fans, a comforting bowl of nutty-flavoured Perilla Seed Samgyetang, Hangover Samgyetang spiced with a secret sauce, and Hanbang Samgyetang made from a traditional herbal recipe.

Don’t miss out on Song Gye Ok’s signature dishes either: from the Assorted Grilled Chicken Platter and hand-cut Kalguksu to the SGO Cheongguk Doenjang Stew and crafted beverages like Earl Grey Highball and Nurungji Sikhye.

And to round up the authentic Korean dining experience, the hanok-inspired interior aims to evoke the charm of old Seoul, taking the experience one step further with warm wood textures, subtle latticework, and an open and interactive charcoal grill where you’ll be able to watch chefs barbecue specialty cuts over charcoal.
