From September 18 to 20, Shanghai-based creative collective Common Rare will take over Suntec City Convention Hall 401 to 402 for a three-day lifestyle market celebrating independent design and slow living.

Founded in Shanghai by Taiwan-born friends Tiffany Wang and Vivian Sze, Common Rare began as a love letter to California’s thriving shop-local culture. The pair met while studying in Shanghai before heading to the US, where weekends spent wandering independent markets sparked an idea that would follow them home. A few years later, they returned to Shanghai determined to recreate that idea in one of Asia’s busiest cities.

Today, Common Rare is best known for its creative festivals, illustration showcases, and lifestyle markets that champion emerging brands, independent makers and under-the-radar creatives.

It brings that same spirit to Singapore, with a market fronted by 200 curated brands from around the world, including overseas labels making their local debut. The vendor roster spans fashion, homeware, ceramics, fragrance, lifestyle goods and art.

Watch out for regional brands like Malaysia's Futuremade Studio, a respected streetwear label making utility-driven everyday garments, alongside Anaabu with their comfortable, gender-neutral slow-fashion apparel. There's also Thailand's brand Japfac featuring clean, multifunctional geometric bags, and Indonesia's Humblezing, known for durable, utility-inspired outdoor casual wear and gear.

The curation extends beyond the region, too. There's Shawna Chan from the United States, a multidisciplinary immigrant artist who creates vibrant illustrations, beaded goods, and ceramics deeply inspired by childhood nostalgia and her Peranakan roots. And representing Shanghai is Grumpy Animal Club, an indie lifestyle brand known for its playful, animal-themed illustrations and quirky graphic goods.

For something closer to home, keep an eye out for local Singaporean names like Scent Journer, a mindful fragrance label making mood-led perfumes, and Hands On Film, a community-centric lab catering to analogue photography lovers. You can also explore curated design boutique Studio Yono, eco-conscious studio Rehyphen, which upcycles discarded cassette tapes into art and lifestyle products, and Talking Toes, a quirky local brand weaving motivational phrases across their colourful socks.

Shopping aside, there’ll also be live performances, interactive workshops and hands-on activities throughout the weekend. And naturally, there’ll be plenty to eat and drink too. Refuel with coffee from PPP Coffee, Homeground Coffee Roasters, Morning, and Smitten Coffee Roasters, or grab bites and sweet treats from crowd favourites including Hello Arigato and Berrybar.

And for fur parents, good news: the event is pet-friendly; just make sure your furkid stays leashed and supervised.

Tickets are priced from $4 online and can be purchased here. Early birds can score a limited-edition welcome gift with purchase while stocks last. Door tickets are priced at $7.
