This marks the sixth time SIA has claimed the top spot at the Skytrax World Airport Awards

Singapore’s aviation game has been looking pretty fly this year. Back in March, Changi Airport was crowned the World’s Best Airport at the 2026 Skytrax World Airport Awards, taking the title for the second year running and for the 14th time overall.
Now, six months later, our national carrier is joining the victory pool. Singapore Airlines has been named the World’s Best Airline at the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards, marking the sixth time SIA has claimed the top spot. It last took the crown in 2023, before placing second to Qatar Airways in 2025.
The Skytrax awards are based on its annual global passenger survey, which collects feedback from more than 24.8 million travellers across 100-plus nationalities and covers more than 300 airlines. Passengers rate the entire flying experience – from cabin classes and cabin crew to airport services, seats, catering, inflight entertainment, Wi-Fi and lounges. The awards span more than 80 categories. The latest survey ran from September 2025 to August 2026, with responses screened for duplicate, suspicious and ineligible entries before the results were compiled.
SIA’s award haul this year includes World’s Best Airline, Best Airline in Asia, World’s Best Economy Class and World’s Best Economy Class Onboard Catering. Meanwhile, its low-cost sibling Scoot has been named World’s Best Long Haul Low-Cost Airline for the sixth consecutive year.
