Singapore Airlines has just dropped a brand-new in-flight safety video and in true SIA style, it’s a cinematic celebration of Singapore that’ll have you feeling a swell of pride before take-off.

Created in partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board, the film takes viewers on a journey from Gardens by the Bay to Lau Pa Sat, with stops at Jurong Lake Gardens, Sentosa and the Esplanade. But this isn’t just a greatest-hits reel of landmarks, the spotlight also shifts to the everyday rhythms and traditions that make Singapore home.

There's a lion dance troupe demonstrating how to secure your tray table, kolam artists sketching out emergency exits in coloured rice flour, silat practitioners showing the brace position and an aqua aerobics team forming a floating life raft. Our favourite segment, however, has to be the family digging into durian in an HDB flat that gets roped in to demonstrate oxygen mask procedures. It's unexpectedly cheeky and not what we've come to expect from in-flight safety videos.

The film also weaves in watercolour-style transitions, blending live-action scenes with hand-painted effects inspired by Singapore’s vibrant mural culture. The result is a safety video that’s equal parts a practical safety briefing and a cultural showcase full of city pride.

The new video will roll out across all Singapore Airlines flights from the end of October 2025. Until then, you can catch it on SIA’s Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other channels.
