When you live in a small country like Singapore, the convenience of jetting off for a holiday anytime and anywhere is a real blessing. Thank goodness that Singapore has one of the most powerful passports in the world then – news is just out that we’ve topped the Henley Passport Index for the fifth time in a row. This time, we share the top spot with five other countries – Japan, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain – each with visa-free access to 194 out of 227 destinations worldwide.

South Korea, Finland, and Sweden come in second place with easy access to 193 destinations. Rounding out the top three are Austria, Denmark, Ireland, and the Netherlands, whose passports offer visa-free travel to 192 destinations. The UAE showed the biggest jump in rankings, leaping 44 places from 55th to 11th position.

Topping the Henley Passport Index is not just a bragging right. According to Henley & Partner’s findings in the Henley Global Mobility Report 2024 Q1, economic success has correlations to visa-free access and all it entails: openness to international trade, investment, and skills exchange. So, enjoy your travel freedom as you will and definitely don’t take our powerful passport for granted.
