Singapore public holidays in 2024 announced, with 5 long weekends

If you like to plan your holidays way ahead, then here are five long weekends in 2024 to look forward to. 

The Ministry of Manpower released the full list of public holidays in 2024. Of the 11 gazetted public holidays, five of them fall on a Friday, Sunday, or Monday – which means blissful long weekends for us all. 

Notably, the second day of Chinese New Year falls on a Sunday, marking the following Monday as a day off. 

Start ringing all your friends about these public holiday dates: 

  • New Year's Day, Jan 1, Monday
  • Chinese New Year, Feb 10, Saturday
  • Chinese New Year, Feb 11, Sunday (Feb 12 will be a public holiday)
  • Good Friday, Mar 29, Friday
  • Hari Raya Puasa, Apr 10, Wednesday
  • Labour Day, May 1, Wednesday
  • Vesak Day, May 22, Wednesday
  • Hari Raya Haji, Jun 17, Monday
  • National Day, Aug 9, Friday
  • Deepavali, Oct 31, Thursday
  • Christmas Day, Dec 25, Wednesday
