Running from May 1 to 24, with bumboat theatre, port terminal tours, and 100+ programs exploring Singapore's maritime history

Singapore HeritageFest 2026 returns from May 1 to 24 with more than 100 programmes exploring the city’s maritime history – and this year, many of them take you directly onto the water.
Now in its 23rd edition, this year’s edition focuses on how ports, trade, migration, and coastal life have shaped our home. One of our favourite experiences is A Bump Through Time, a bumboat theatre experience that cruises along the Singapore River – and through our river trade history. On the boat, you become part of a theatre performance as you move between Clarke Quay and Marina Bay.
Another highlight, Port of Dreams, sets up a roving performance around The Fullerton Bay Hotel and Clifford Pier, revisiting different eras of port life through staged scenes and narratives.
The festival also opens up parts of Singapore’s maritime operations that are usually off-limits. The Maritime and Port Authority is marking its 30th anniversary with tours and visits, including a behind-the-scenes programme at PSA terminals run by PSA Singapore, giving participants a closer look at how one of the world’s busiest ports operates.
Beyond trade and food, there are programmes exploring beliefs and traditions connected to the sea. These include heritage walks linked to maritime deities, folklore tours on Pulau Ubin, and performances that bring coastal and seafaring traditions into focus. There are also spice-making workshops, fishery port tours at Jurong Fishery Port, and even chocolate and cocoa-themed storytelling sessions that trace how goods travel globally before ending up locally.
And back at the Asian Civilisations Museum, Homeground, Singapore HeritageFest’s festival village, returns as a weekend marketplace featuring exhibitions, crafts, performances, and installations.
