Singapore-born craft distillery Distillius has picked up six accolades at the 2026 Asia World Spirits Competition, including the competition’s top prize for liqueurs. The bottle that took home that honour is its Super Pandan liqueur, named Best in Show Liqueur, while also taking Best of Class for Botanical/Herbal Liqueur and a Double Gold medal. At 20 per cent ABV, the spirit takes the aroma of pandan out of its usual kaya toast and dessert territory and gives it a place behind the bar.

Distillius is a local distillery that aims to rethink how familiar flavours from this part of the world can be used in drinks. It specialises in what it calls equatorial spirits and aperitifs, drawing on botanicals associated with Southeast Asia while borrowing techniques and ideas from global distilling traditions.

Its first aperitif, Arveau, took home the Gold title at the competition. Created around the idea of drinking in Singapore’s tropical climate (rather than simply adapting European drinking conventions), the 20 per cent ABV aperitif combines calamansi and mandarin with torch flower, ginseng, galangal and cloves, and is designed to be enjoyed chilled over ice, topped with soda or mixed into cocktails.

The distillery also develops bespoke spirits, liqueurs, botanical gins and aromatic syrups for hospitality and private clients, working directly with clients through tasting, recipe development and refinement before production. If you had to pick one, we recommend trying the bespoke Old Tom Gin made exclusively for MO Bar at Mandarin Oriental Singapore.

This very MO Bar x Distillius Old Tom Gin No. 1 picked up Double Gold and Best of Class for Old Tom Gin.  It combines mandarin, osmanthus and mango with Sauvignon Blanc in a wheat-based spirit.

At the Asia World Spirits Competition, panels of industry professionals judge blind, meaning each spirit has to earn its place on taste alone.

If you want to taste the Singapore-made spirits for yourself, Super Pandan and Arveau are available from Distillius, both online and at its production space at 200 Pandan Loop, which operates by appointment only. You can also find its bottles at selected Singapore venues, including Chip Bee Bistro, Idle Hands and Sago House.
