Expect Studio Ghibli classics, Debussy, and the Southeast Asia premiere of Concerto for Orchestra

You’ve almost certainly heard composer Joe Hisaishi’s music before – yes, the unforgettable scores on Studio Ghibli classics such as Spirited Away and My Neighbour Totoro. Now, for the first time ever, he’s bringing his World Dream Tour to Singapore on November 12 and 13 at the Esplanade Concert Hall – and he’s not coming solo. Joining him is the Orchestre de Paris, one of the world’s premier symphony orchestras, also making their Singapore debut.
Joe Hisaishi is nothing short of a legend. A composer, conductor, and pianist, he has created some of the most iconic film scores of our time, fusing classical training with a signature sense of magic and emotion. From Japanese cinema to international collaborations, his music has captivated audiences worldwide, earning him a permanent place in the hearts of Studio Ghibli fans and symphony lovers everywhere.
The concert will take you on a journey – from the delicate French Impressionism of Debussy to the tear-inducing Princess Mononoke Symphonic Suite, featuring a soprano solo. And just when you think you’ve caught your breath, get ready for the Southeast Asia premiere of Hisaishi’s Concerto for Orchestra – a dazzling showcase of instrumental mastery where every section of the orchestra gets its moment to shine.
Mark your calendars: tickets are priced from $88 to $558 and will go on sale from April 6 via Sistic.
