Get your young bookworms excited, The National Library (NLB) is launching a new subscription service, especially for kids. Intrigued? It's called 'The Little Book Box' and is launching this October. At just $10.70 a month, kids can enjoy a monthly selection of eight English children's books delivered right to the doorstep. The titles span a broad range of children's interests and are catered for two age groups – from four to six years old and seven to nine years old.

Subscribers can enjoy an increased quote in the number of books they can borrow from NLB a month, as they can still continue to borrow up to 16 books at a library near them. The pilot service will be available for registration from October 2 onwards (just in time for Children's Day), and will run for nine months from November to July next year. But be quick, because this service will be capped at 1,000 subscribers and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

There's a minimum subscription period of three months, however. And the subscription will be automatically renewed for another three months unless terminated. The loan duration for books under this service is 21 days (excluding delivery time), and subscribers can return the books at any of NLB's 25 public libraries island-wide to return them.
