Over in Seletar, a conserved colonial bungalow dating to the 1930s – once a Royal Air Force residence – has just undergone its biggest refresh yet. Since becoming home to The Summerhouse in 2016, the estate has just undergone its biggest refresh yet, revamping all ten spaces around four new pillars: Grow, Gather, Glow and Getaway.

By morning, Bloom Room is the newest reason to make the trip. Bringing the garden indoors with floral workshops, the indoor floral space will have high teas and a new range of seasonal desserts made with produce and edible flowers grown on-site. Some sweet treats you can expect are the vanilla lavender blueberry petite cake and the pandan lime blossom cake.

The garden itself gets a starring role too. Tucked within the estate, The Garden Beds is home to more than 20 varieties of herbs and plants, with self-guided trails for anyone curious about where their lunch actually begins. What grows here eventually finds its way into Wildseed Café, Wildseed Bar and Botanico, whether that's herbs in a dish, botanicals in a cocktail or fresh ingredients in a plate of pasta.

Then there's The Lawn, which is set to become the estate's communal playground. Think markets, pop-ups, giant lawn games and seasonal takeovers, including Oktoberfest and Christmas markets. Come Halloween and the festive season, expect large-scale installations designed to turn the grounds into a family-friendly photo stop without requiring a pilgrimage into the city. Meanwhile, dog owners can let their four-legged companions loose at Wags & Wander, which will also host pet meet-ups, dog-friendly brunches and walks around The Oval.

Upstairs, Botanico gets a distinctly Italian makeover, with homemade pasta, wood-fired meats and whole fish featuring produce from the garden and local farms. Weekend brunch also gets a refresh with The Carrello Brunch ($60++ per person), serving a procession of small plates, tableside Parmigiano pasta, hearty mains and a final dessert trolley.

And when the sun finally clocks off, Wildseed Bar takes over. Its Sunset Porch now comes with more booth seating for groups, daily live music, and a Saturday Garden Grill pairing live-fire cooking with a live band.
