If you grew up trying to do stunts on your bicycle or playing Tony Hawk games on your PlayStation, then you’ll want to lock in for this one. Festival International des Sports Extrêmes (FISE), the world’s largest urban sports festival, is making its way to Singapore this coming weekend for an exhilarating two days of extreme and street sports, featuring BMX, skateboarding, rollerblading, and even breakdancing. And there’s no better location for this high-octane showcase on November 22 and 23 than Somerset Skate Park and newly revamped youth hub, *Scape.
Aside from exciting demonstrations by extreme sports athletes and champions from all over the world – including those who have made it to the Olympics – there will be youth-focused clinics for novice enthusiasts to learn from the pros themselves. Those who are more experienced at the ramps and jumps can compete in contests and challenges, including a ‘cash-for-tricks’ battle.
Also showing off her moves is Singapore’s very own Chloe Chua, a pint-sized eight-year-old inline skater who already has multiple medals to her name. While she has competed abroad, this will be her debut performance on home soil, where she’s set to impress with her expertly executed flips and tricks.
Live DJs will also take the stage to add some beats to the scene.
FISE Singapore is a free-entry event, but fees may apply for individual sports clinics and contests. Find out more here.
