Even with stricter measures and rules imposed by the government, we still hold the most responsibility for monitoring our health. We get it, separating the symptoms from the common col and Covid-19 can be challenging, but if you're concerned that you might have the virus, there's now an online screening tool for you to do a quick self-check before you head to the doctor.

The tool was created by National University Health Service (NUHS), National Centre for Infectious Disease (NCID) and the Ministry of Health Office for Healthcare Transformation (MOHT) after observing a trend of people who have been "doctor-hopping" because they were unsure of the results from a previous consultation. It aims to help the public by providing more information and getting them the help they need.

It works like a survey where the user is made to answer a series of questions including information about age, recent travel history, the people they've come in contact with and of course, the symptoms – the most common being fever, sore throat and a cough. The site also allows you to get screened anonymously, but the data collected gives an overview of the different types of patients concerned about Covid-19 on the site.

With our health workers working hard at the frontline, measures must be taken so we don't overwhelm the numbers. With SG Covid Check, the anyone can monitor their wellbeing from home before deciding on the next course of action. A spokesperson of the app explains, "While the tool does not dispense medical advice, it helps with navigating the healthcare system."

When the Covid-19 cases started increasing, authorities had launched TraceTogether, a mobile app which assists in contact tracing. Let's do our part in flattening the curve.
