It has come to this. After various rounds of clapping out of our windows for our frontline workers and belting out the lyrics to Dick Lee's Home, a new movement is underway. Local satire page A Better World By Memes is organising a collective bleating session at 8pm tonight (June 1) to support our frontline workers. Yes, you read that right.

All you have to do is bleat like a sheep – or goat – for an hour. After all, most of us are sheep anyway. And if you haven't managed to practise your bleating skills this 'circuit breaker', don't worry. The event admins have also thoughtfully shared videos of tutorials to help you be the best bleater in your 'hood.

Solidarity? Definitely.

In a satirical post on the event page, the admins have decided that the bleating will commence on Monday, June 1, at 8pm – because it's easier to create an anniversary event.

A Better World By Memes is known for memes that poke fun at society and events happening locally, from NDP Funpacks to sovereign citizens. However, not everyone appreciates the humour in the event. One user commented that the effort "sounds a lot more like degrading than supporting."

It's not all mindless bleating, though. Go a step beyond and consider donating to the various causes to help the less privileged in Singapore at giving.sg/sgunited. If you want to contribute more to your community, here are more things you can do to help
