Just like that, it’s out with 2018 and in with the New Year. It’s been an eventful one for our little city. We finally feel like we’re firmly on the world map – thanks to the likes of Crazy Rich Asians and a certain rich American with crazy bad hair – even if BBC News thinks the entirety of Singapore lies in Sentosa. Here’s a look back at what got us talking this year, from buzzwords like sustainability and activism to discussions on how we can keep our heritage and culture alive. These are our hopes for 2019. Happy New Year, Singapore!
