Try its signature 36-layer humidity-proof croissant, exclusive to Singapore

Rituel, Tokyo’s beloved bakery-dining concept, has landed on Orchard Road, marking the opening of its first international flagship at Takashimaya Shopping Centre.
Rituel is French in technique and Japanese in sensibility, pairing meticulous baking techniques with the thoughtful hospitality Japan does best.
Here, the menu is designed to take you from your morning croissant all the way through to dinner, without ever needing to change venues. Expect shelves of viennoiserie and patisserie, alongside its all-day menu, afternoon tea, desserts and drinks.
But if you had to choose one thing to try, it’s the pastries that remain the main event. The brand's signature spiral-shaped escargot danish makes the trip from Tokyo, joined by baguettes, pain au chocolat, brioche and a Singapore-exclusive signature layer croissant. Built with premium French butter, French flour, overnight fermentation and 36 delicate layers, it's been tweaked so that it remains crispy in Singapore's unforgiving humidity.
Rituel works pastry directly into its savoury dishes too. Standouts include a Japanese egg danish sandwich stuffed with creamy scrambled eggs and truffle mushroom cream, a wagyu roast beef danish sandwich with homemade pickles and red wine sauce, plus flaky pot pie soups where the golden pastry lid is meant to be broken into the broth. There are also French comfort food staples such as duck confit, steak frites, pasta and fricassée for those after something heartier.
Tea lovers can settle in for the Singapore-exclusive Bouquet afternoon tea, complete with pastries, savouries and a dessert wagon. The sweets menu also stretches beyond cakes, featuring brioche flower donuts, seasonal fruit pastries and towering signature parfaits layered with artisan ice cream, available by reservation from mid-August. Pair them with curated teas, rich Valrhona chocolate chaud, five tea-based mocktails inspired by destinations including Tokyo, Nice, and Singapore, as well as a house coffee blend roasted in collaboration with local favourite Dutch Colony Coffee.
Naturally, there are opening specials to sweeten the deal. Throughout July, the Bouquet afternoon tea for two is priced at $100 (down from $118) and comes with complimentary free-flow non-alcoholic sparkling drinks. In August, diners who spend $30 will receive a complimentary signature layer croissant while stocks last, and afternoon tea guests can enjoy a bottle of Louis Roederer Champagne at a special price of $86 instead of the usual $140.
