Off the heels of an earlier update that household members are allowed to dine out in groups of five from November 10, here's more dining news. Fully vaccinated members of the same household can soon be able to dine together in groups of up to five at some hawker centres or coffee shops. But here's a caveat: the places will need to have access control and checking systems in place.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Health (MOH) on November 15, the first group of hawker centres is expected to put in place access control and checking systems before the end of November. The rest will follow suit "soon after" – so keep a lookout for updates.

MOH also announced that in addition to using the NRIC or SingPass app, household members dining together can now use the myICA and SGWorkPass apps as proof of residence.

This is definitely a major step forward, especially following Singapore's Stabilisation Phase that was previously extended to November 21. In the meantime, you can still have meals outside with family members at these best communal dining restaurants.
