This past week, the Holland Village stalwart announced its last day of operations as October 25. For over six decades, the restaurant has been serving up good quality Western food but they are known best for their air-flown New Zealand steaks and value-for-money high tea sets (from $13.50). Of course, the cosy alfresco dining area and its garden fountain will be greatly missed.

The sudden announcement via a Facebook post went viral and shared appreciation to loyal patrons that supported the business. But it came without reason for the closure and no follow-up on any sign of reopening in a new location. Ardent fans can be seen expressing their grievances in the comment sections while most reminisced on beautiful milestone moments steeped in nostalgia.

Bowing out with one last hurrah, Fosters Steakhouse is hosting a farewell party on October 25 (from 5pm onwards) with an open invite in hopes to accommodate everyone that wishes to come. Though, it is definitely wise to make reservations to avoid disappointment.

Book here.
