If buying airplane tickets feels like a challenging sport to you, especially for countries with multiple states, then here's some good news: Singapore Airlines (SIA) has entered a new partnership with Southwest Airlines, giving travellers access to nearly 120 destinations across the United States under a single booking.

This tie-up was announced by Southwest Airlines on June 8, and it basically connects Singapore Airlines’ long-haul flights with Southwest’s huge domestic network, so it’s now way easier for passengers to hop between destinations covered by both airlines.

Here's how it works: Fly from Singapore on SIA, transit through Los Angeles, San Francisco or Seattle, then connect onto Southwest's domestic network to reach cities across the country – all without having to piece together separate airline bookings yourself. Everything sits under a single itinerary, so there's no juggling multiple bookings or checking in again for every flight. Your bags will also be tagged through to your final destination, meaning you can skip the hassle of collecting and rechecking them during your layover.

SIA is also the latest international carrier to join Southwest's airline partnership programme. Other airlines in the network include China Airlines, ANA (All Nippon Airways), Icelandair and Turkish Airlines, among others.

Apart from this, Singapore Airlines has been busy beefing up its network this year too. Recent additions include daily direct flights to Hangzhou, which took off on June 1, while daily services to Western Sydney's new airport are set to launch from Nov 23.

Tickets are already available through Singapore Airlines' website, travel agents and online travel booking platforms.
